Red chats up Robbie from The Big Pink about why America is cooler than the UK, stealing from other rockstars and how many people are shagging to this album.
They also appeared in this skit. Imagining them on the wing of a plane is oh so much cooler than a freaky little gremlin.
So the first real night I’m out in this new amazing city I find myself at The Cha Cha (which has become my steady hang ever since)…I’m out with Jordin Silver, GregR and others when I see this tall lanky guy that has this radical rockstar aura about him…I whisper in Jordin’s ear, “Who’s that??” …to which Jordin replies, “That’s Slade or Slats?? Slats!!”…she explained that he was somewhat of a Capitol Hill legend and I was determined to get a pic with this bitchin’ dude. He didn’t say much but I loved the pic, said thank you and carried on with a big grin on my face for the rest of the night…You can imagine how bummed I was this morning to hear that he was no longer with us.
RIP Slats…May your electric vibe carry on to the other side….
