Looks Like FUN Is Making Some Money

Posted in: Uncategorized

What happens when you let a car bungee jump? How about when said car skydives? Worse yet, what happens when you allow Ok Go to get behind the wheel?? Simple, what happens is the band Fun heres the glorious cha-ching of a payday! Their song “We Are Young” is featured in this preposterous video for the new Chevy!

Not to mention, playing it in the Super Bowl didn’t suck, either…

World War Z Author Max Brooks Coming to UW

Posted in: Uncategorized

Anyone paying any sort of attention to the zombie phenoma of the last 5 years is likely familiar with the work of author Max Brooks.

He’s the author of the VERY succussful “Zombie Survival Guide” and “World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War” the latter of which will be released as a movie starring Brad Pitt later this year.

Brooks will be speaking at University of Washington’s Kane Hall on Tuesday, February 28th if you want to pick his brain :)

Tickets are available here

Here’s a rundown from the ASUW who are putting on the event

Zombies welcome! Max Brooks, considered by many to be one of the world’s foremost Zombie preparedness experts, will be on campus to talk books, movies, and the walking dead. Born in New York City in 1972, Brooks’ introduction to the living dead began with a traumatic childhood incident, an incident he still refuses to discuss. Since that time, he has devoted much of his life to the study and development of anti-ghoul security, as evidenced by his books The Zombie Survival Guide and World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War.This event is presented by ASUW Arts and Entertainment, First Year Program, HUB Soundbites, and Humans Vs. Zombie Tag.Please Note: Autographed copies of books are only available after the event.Admission is $7 with UW ID $12 General Public

New Gorillaz Song Will Feature James Murphy/Andre 3000

Posted in: Uncategorized

We told you months ago that Gorillaz had confirmed they were working on a track for the Converse “Three Artists. One Song” project. The big question the last couple weeks has been….who will they work with?

Announced today, the cartoon band has created a track called “DoYaThing” with LCD Soundsystem frontman James Murphy and Andre 3000 of OutKast.

You’ll be able to snag the track as a free download starting February 23 at the Converse website. This is in conjunction with the band releasing four more styles of their custom Converse shoe that hard-core shoe/band fans have been drooling over for awhile.

Rep Hargrove compared gay marriage to this commercial and asked legislators to “think of the poor mother in law!” ….to bacon.

Poor bacon, always the bridesmaid….
