I happen to know how to read and sometimes even open a book for entertainment’s sake (shocking, i know). In the past months i’ve read two books by Neil Gaiman Neverwhere and American Gods. Neil also wrote the book Coraline which made the big screen earlier this year.
Gaiman loves his Twitter. He loves it enough to use the social networking/productivity killing site so much that’s he’s attempting to write a book with your help – on Twitter!
Tomorrow at 9am (Seattle time) it takes place – from BBC Audio Books America:
Read the opening line of the story tweeted by Neil (or catch up with it in progress by visiting #bbcawdio) and then follow us at http://www.twitter.com/BBCAA to post the next sentence of the story (tweets must be 140 characters or less) like this:
@BBCAA Your Tweet Here #bbcawdio
(Please use both the @BBCAA and the #bbcawdio tags to be sure we see your contribution!)
This special choose-your-own-adventure style story will also be chronicled here on our blog as the story unfolds with its myriad twists and turns created by YOU!
How the hell is this ever going to make sense?!?
Paul Constant from the SLOG put it best:
“The story will reportedly be “edited.” I would like to nominate that poor, nameless wretch of an editor for the next Nobel Prize in Literature if this thing winds up even halfway comprehensible.”
