Kings of Leon have managed to dodge bird s*$% long enough to write and record one of the most anticipated records of the year.

The bands 5th full length “Come Around Sundown” is out on October 19th.

We’ll have the first track ‘Radioactive” starting bright and early tomorrow morning right here.

Until then, here’s a little tease of what the video will look like and a full explanation of where the song came from and what it’s about.

The British version of American Idol is called the “X Factor”

Imagine everything you know about “Idol” and multiply x 10.  This of course includes the harsh treatment of guest who aren’t up to par.

The main difference is that the entire show happens in front of a gigantic live audience that isn’t shy about voicing their displeasure.

Thus is the case with “Ablisa”

Somehow though, you don’t feel sorry for them at all

That didn’t last long.

5 months after joining Jane’s Addiction, ex Guns n Roses/Velvet Revolver bassist Duff McKagan has left the band.

The band released a statement thanking the Seattlite for all of his hard work writing songs for the new record and playing a handful of shows however, “musically [they] were headed in different directions.”

What happened?

Was this always going to be a short term thing?
Was there a big fight when Dave Navarro realized Duff is a lot cooler than he is?

Not sure, but if we hear anything solid, we’ll let you know.

In the meantime, you can catch Duff around Seattle playing with his band Loaded and possibly working on new Velvet Revolver if they ever find a lead singer (I’m guessing Perry Farrell is OUT for that job opening).

The boys in Anberlin released their new record “Dark is the Way, Light is a Place”  today.  You’ve heard “Impossible” on The End…now is your chance to hear the entire album before you buy it (sorta like test-driving a car).

If you do like what you hear, the album is on-sale for only $3.99 at Amazon for a VERY limited time. You can snag that here.

They’ll be back in town on October 14th for an all ages show at the Showbox SODO. Until today, we couldn’t announce the openers but now we’re pleased to say that both Crash Kings AND Civil Twilight will be opening up, so it should be a great show from start until finish.
