The Kings of Leon are turning down some big $$ TV offers to keep a little street cred.

Bassist Jared Followill (who is still chugging Listerine to get the bird s*$% out of his mouth) recently revealed that the band was approached by the producers of “Glee” and “Ugly Betty” about using their music.

“We got an offer to appear on an episode of ‘Ugly Betty.’ They wanted us to play ourselves. We were supposed to come in and help her out with some problem or other.”

Like how to run away from pooping birds?

“We could have sold out so much more. We turn stuff down constantly.”

The folks over at Glee were also interested in the band and wanted to theme a one-off episode around the band’s music.

On that offer he said:

“I’ve never seen that show. Apparently everyone loves it. We had some people call us up wanting to know if we’d allow ‘Use Somebody’ to appear in the trailer … I was like, ‘Man, don’t even waste your energy.’”

Good for them!  We hate sell outs!  Way to stick it to the man!!

Frankly, it’s refreshing when a band sticks to it’s guns and only allows it’s music to pimp things like the Ford Focus

Three cheers for crediblity!!!
