Kurt_1_Brushing_TeethThe Seattle Art Museum is planning an exhibit that will focus on Kurt Cobain in a way that few others have…through the art that he influenced.

The exhibit will be called ‘Kurt” and will “range from straightforward portraiture to pieces that show a more subtle assimilation of Cobain’s ethos and idealism in a broad range of media.”

That comes from Michael Darling, The Jon & Mary Shirley Curator of Modern & Contemporary Art…a man who likes his sentences as long and complex as his job title.

Learn more about the exhibit here

“Kurt” starts on May 13th and will be at SAM for 6 months.

A good chance to see it on the cheap is by checking out first Thursday, where SAM (and a number of others) opens it’s doors for free on the first thursday of every month.
