All of the hype, all of the controversy lead to this.

A relatively boring message from “Focus on the Family” that wasn’t delivered very well (at least in a direct way)

The victory here was the weeks of discussion, publicity and “focus” that lead up to this spot being aired.  The marketing people at “Focus on the Family” did a great job of taking a spot that, standing alone, wouldn’t have been noticed at all…and kept it in the news cycle for weeks.

Agree with their politics or don’t agree with their politics, this was a smart PR move which allowed them to really get their money’s worth (which isn’t always the case with Superbowl ad’s)
