One of the best feelings in the world is finding out about one of your favorite bands coming to town, enduring the months of waiting, then getting to that day.
Today, my friends, is Editors day.
I first heard about the show in November, and have been geniunely excited ever since.
From time to time on the air, we talk about shows and say stuff like, “Hey, AFI is at the Showbox SODO this Friday, I’m excited to check it out” which isn’t a lie, but isn’t really the same kind of excitement.
It’s parallel to the concept of saying that things are fun.
You go out with some friends one night, nothing terribly mind blowing happens positive or negative, and the next day someone asks how it went and out of habit you say “it was alright, I had fun”
Then you have the night you went to an amazing party, had the perfect level of buzz, ran into some people that you know that REALLY make you laugh, then got the number of the attractive person that you had been looking at the entire night. THAT is fun.
What I am trying to say is that I am physically anxious and excited to see the Editors tonight, they don’t play very often, are awesome every time they do play. A perfect recipe for one of those memorable evenings that AFI just can’t deliver for me
If you haven’t seen the video for “Papillon” a song off their latest record “In This Light and On This Evening” you can check it out here:
