Well, that is about it
Broadcast is over…we’re all packed up. Time to enjoy a couple more bands and get back to Seattle
a couple of highlights and lowlights of the day
1) Fleet Foxes interview…one of the best I have done in awhile. Had a great conversation with Robin. Was a little worried and he is pretty quiet and shy, but it couldn’t have gone better. The downside is, it was SO good, the radio gods decided to take it away. When we went to upload, our portable recording device had run out of memory, so nothing recorded. It ended up and was just a good conversation between 2 dudes holding funny looking sticks. Guess that one is just for me.
2) Silversun Pickups interview went well, you’ll see the video…had it’s awkward moments (which most interviews do, except my fantastic Fleet Foxes interview which now only exists in my heart.) Nikko, the President/Indentured Servant of the End will have that video up soon. I give that short bald headed kid a lot of shit, but he is alright (and weird).
3) Santigold. Interview was fine, she legally couldn’t talk about some of things I brought up (name change etc), but was nice and we had a good convo. I’m glad I don’t work at a hip hop station. That seems like it would be difficult (and i’d probably have to yell a lot)
As far as bands I have seen… no one in the last couple of hours. However, there is quite the buzz about the Monotonix. This is the band that got kicked out of Bumbershoot 10 minutes into their set for lighting things on fire. Last I heard the lead singer was standing on the kick drum which was being held up by people in the crowd. That is amazing.
I’m going to see Fleet Foxes, Silversun Pickups and whoever else, then making the long drive back
