Few things rival the power, reach, and overall cultural impact that the Chemical Brothers have had on modern music (essentially they pioneered it along with the likes of Daft Punk and The Prodigy to bring block rockin beats into households world wide via stereo’s and television commercials) and after years of earth destroying live sets, they’ve released their first concert film entitled “Don’t Think” and it’s about to hit theaters for one night only so you can get your dance on (seriously, at the LA premier everyone just left their seats, got down in front of the screen and started dancing, sounds like a crazy awesome time). While it’s not quite the same as seeing the duo live, it will be just as loud, just as intense, and being that they won’t be back for….well they haven’t even been in Seattle since the early 2000’s so who knows when really, it’s probably the closest you’ll get to the guys for some time. All showings are at 7:30pm this wednesday and you can check out a list of local theaters showing the program here. I can tell you if i wasn’t stuck in my little radiobox on top of this building I’d definitely join you, check out the trailer below and don’t miss out!

Bryson Andres is one skilled violin player. He took his talents to the tough streets of… Spokane, and performed for what appears to be quite the haul.
Now, I’m not necessarily a huge fan of this song selections, but his ability and the use of that looping pedal are pretty rad.
Love the mini generator as it reminds me of the equipment Ryan from promotions brings with him to Sasquatch so we can make coffee in the morning. Wow, that makes me feel snooty/pampered…

Fresh with a new fancy haircut, UK’s Alex Turner and his Arctic Monkeys performed a couple songs on Jonathan Ross – a late night television show:
and
It’s tough being an Arctic Monkeys fan. “I Bet You Look Good On The Dance Floor” seems like generations ago when compared to the last couple albums work. Now they’ve grown slower, or more dramatic at least, which isn’t the attraction catalyst that made them stand out initially. Just when I’m tired of trying to like them, the sound of the desert and it’s master, Josh Homme, seem to seep through the cracks and fill out their sound. Homme had a hand recording their 2010 release Humbug and since the band has maintained a semblance of that sound. I’m not sure I hear it in their live performance, but it’s def still there on their latest offering Suck It And See.

We’re proud to have a dude from Seattle go on to be a snarky television star, right? Joel McHale not only walked on to the Husky football team while at UW, but also has carved out quite the television career: The Soup, Community, and now… Sesame Street – next to a porcupine!

Specific details are out about the first new Garbage record since 2006. The album is called “Not Your Kind Of People” and will be released on May 15th via the bands own Stun Volume label
Expect the wide range of tours, magazine articles and TV appearances through the summer of 2012
The band has even given us a teaser trailer for the album (with possibly new music in the background?)
