Just randomly came across this rad old school picture of Wrigley Field in Chicago and instantly all the fun memories of Lollapalooza 2010 came rushing back… especially the part where we screwed around in the city – which is amazing. The cubs, love em or hate em, have one of the coolest ball parks in the country. The trains run right from Lolla to Wrigley too…

And it’s fun!  Not as bad as it sounds…definitely a game that has become my favorite part of Loveline as I head home for the night.   I wait in my driveway, sometimes just to hear Psycho Mike sing the theme song!    Also!  it’s a fun game to try to play when you are at a party (after a cocktail or two)…it gets a bit ridiculous!  Listen for it later tonight.

Nothing would be worse than 500lb bears raining from the sky. That didn’t happen. But a ton of folks did manage to rain teddy bears onto the ice at a Thunderbirds hockey game Saturday night in Kent! The premise: when the Thunderbirds score their first goal – toss your bears! This looks ridiculous:

The bears will be used by firefighters when helping kids with trauma. That’s super cute.

A quick couple of things:
1. Pretty awesome how the players skate around with sticks and help round up the bears.
2. Pretty unsweet how any momentum the team had after scoring a goal goes down the tubes!

And now, because it’s hockey, how about a classic Hockey fight from back in the Seattle Center Coliseum:

WOW! What?!?!

Some bands have clearly had problems embracing the entire “Glee” phenomena.

It seems as if others are all for it.

Following Sunday’s Superbowl broadcast on Fox, a special episode of Glee will premiere. The seemingly over-complicated plot centers around the glee club making peach with jocks. Apparently a zombie attack is included as well.

We mention this b/c some of the music from the episode popped on the internet today and it features the Yeah Yeah Yeahs mashed up with Michael Jackson.

People seemed to side with Kings of Leon during last weeks feud with the shows creators. Does this mean we might see an anti-Yeah Yeah Yeahs sentiment b/c their music is included in the show? Has their been a line drawn in the sand?

No. Probably not.  That would be dumb.

WOAH!!!

We knew that new music from Fleet Foxes was coming this year we just didn’t think it would be this soon.

The band has announced today that their 2nd full length record will be called “Helplessness Blues” and is due out on Sub Pop May 3rd.

Once again the band teamed up with producer Phil Ek recording in studios all over the Seattle area including Avast Recording, Bear Creek Studios, Dreamland Studios, and Reciprocal Recording.

Listen to the title track right here!!!

Fleet Foxes – Helplessness Blues by subpop

The band will be celebrating the release of the record with a Moore Theatre show on May 3rd (the day the record comes out). Guess that means they won’t be playing Sasquatch.

Thanks for the head’s up Consequence of Sound
