Man, it’s jsut a big night for the Fonda Theater on this blog tonight isnt it. As their new years gift to the fans, much like their christmas gift, we get a video from one of the final NIN shows! And let me tell you, as an attendee of NIN’s last 4 shows in LA, I can say without a doubt that this was the best of them. It wasn’t the last, but if it had been I don’t think anyone would have complained. What a note to go out on. From the album The Fragile, its “Just Like You Imagined”

Lets face it, 2010 was a rough year for all of us, but especially for Haiti who were completely devastated by earthquakes early on. Thankfully though the bands we love came to their support, none more so though than The Arcade Fire and Radiohead. While Arcade Fire set up an online donations campaign and flew over to play music for volunteers and victims, Radioheads contribution came in the form of a “bid your way in” concert at the Fonda Theater in Los Angeles with a minimum bid for a pair being 500 big ones. Now I certainly wasn’t there and I doubt you were either (but if you were….I must say I am so very jealous) However as per usual now in the 21st century you can pretend you were there by watching the whole show below in a band sanctioned high quality video bootleg.

As always, be careful this New Years Eve when you’re out and about.

If you were thinking about partying and don’t have a plan for getting home, find one and remember it’s not a good idea to get behind the wheel.

You could end up as the  star of a really graphic Australian Public Service Announcement.

How awesome would it be if your family dragged you to a museum and when you walked in Michael Stipe from R.E.M. was playing a set? Because in New York that happened to someone, and by the looks of it, it was awesome. Also by the looks of it, Michael Stipe is getting pretty old.

Subtract the talented brother, add some indie credibility by having a member of 90’s shoegaze kings, Ride help write the material for your record and you end up with….Beady Eye, the new band from Oasis’ Liam Gallagher. This tune ends up sounding a whole lot like james bond and oasis had a baby. Man, that kid would be so Britsh. …whatever that means.

2010 was quite an eventful year for Weezer.

Fans didn’t quite know what to make of the barrage of records and re-releases.  Some of which were awesome (Pinkerton Re-Issue) and some of which were not (Hurley).  Despite the fact that they were great at Bumbershoot, a Seattle man started an online petition that got world-wide attention trying to raise money for them to break up.

It seemed like with every good thing there was also a dose of bad.

With that in mind, if this video posted by Rivers is the last thing the band does this year…it certainly means they are ending on a good note.  A great solo cover of  The Beach Boys “God Only Knows”.  Enjoy
