So, I met up with Red at SeaTac this morning around 7:15 so we could get on our way to the VooDoo festival in New Orleans. We got in the plane and waited… and waited… and eventually, we got moving at 10:15! We got out on the runway and then we sat for awhile, as planes do from time to time and then the pilot came on the speaker and said we were going to turn back because they couldn’t check the fuel levels/meter on one of the engines.

We sat back at the terminal for awhile and FINALLY our flight left the ground at 11:30AM!

To just put the icing on the cake with everyone being grumpy and tired of being in a non-moving-plane for so long, the turbulence was awful! No, not awful as in a bit bumpy here and there… it was pretty hardcore most of the flight to the point where I was getting nauseous… and I don’t get motion sickness that easily. :/

Anywho, we finally got to Minneapolis around 5:00PM but we were stuck in a holding pattern around the airport for half an hour or so, so we didn’t make into the terminal until 5:45ish.

Needless to say, but I’m going to say it anyways, Red and I were fed up with the current flight situation and had massive headaches from all the delays and cramped quarters.

Oh yeah, our connecting flight to New Orleans that we were supposed to catch at 2:45PM was rescheduled to arrive around 2PM on Saturday after having a layover in Atlanta. At this point, Red and I are done. Done, done, done.

We immediately got on the phone calling our boss and the airlines to figure things out. I ended up striking a deal with a gentleman on the phone, Scott, who got us a flight to Detroit at 7:45 and the first flight to New Orleans at 8:35AM. YUS!

So, right now, at this very moment, Red is curled up on a makeshift couch-bed, and I’m loving the free Wi-Fi and power. The local time is 12:19AM and we’re just happy at this point to be able to make it to New Orleans in time for our interviews.

Hour 15 of traveling down, hopefully only another 10 more to go!

I shot some video of our trip today, nothing fancy, but if I can’t sleep on this awful couch, I’ll post a video here in a few.

Yeah. Not gonna lie. I put things off until the last minute. Constantly.

Flying out to New Orleans for The VooDoo Experience is no exception.

I’m leaving my house in four hours and I’m still waiting for the laundry to finish so I can pack my suitcase. I borrowed my buddies laptop, and it just finished installing my Final Cut Studio 2 and next up is going to be some CS3 lovin’.

My AV bag is some sort of mess and I’m really expecting to get held up at security for an hour while they sift through everything and then do a full body search on me… This just means I need to leave in three hours. Uhhhg!

I got a killer deal on a new External HDD setup. 2 2TB  7200RPM HDDs for 179 each & a FireWire 800 enclosure for 129. I just built the RAID set and now I’m copying over all my precious files to it so I have a free HDD for the trip.

Anywho, I’ll be posting videos and pictures on here and the like of the awesome time in NOLA! What do you want to see? Parties? Music? Interviews? Sneaking ’round?? Let me know!

Oh, be sure to follow me on Twitter while I’m down there too! If you shoot me a message, I can get back to you while on location! How cool is that??

Man, this blog post is random. Can you tell that I’ve had no sleep? Yay for MTN DEW! Wait… when did the name change??? I feel gipped!

At 11am & 1p today we are revealing clues on Twitter, Myspace, Facebook and right here on my bl0g

These clues lead to an answer that is relevant to the Seattle Sounders FC

It’s  important to note….the clues sent will individually have their own answer, however that isn’t necessarily the answer to snag the tickets.  It will just lead you to the “sounders based” final answer for tickets

First person to call 206-421-1077 with the correct answer wins a pair of tickets to the Sounders FC first playoff game tomorrow night at Qwest

Clue #1 – Lorenzo Romar & Jim Mora Jr

Clue #2 – Bill Russell & Michelle Akers

CONGRATS Shawn McLaughlin!!!  He was the first to figure out that all of the above have been awarded the “Golden Scarf”
