So, in my quest to catch up on stuff around the house I decided I was going to take a new self portrait. Problem was, due to all of the sugar and drinks I had when I got home today, I couldn’t sit still. I snapped way too many random photos and came up with this:

Nikko's Home Photobooth

I’m awesome.

Just sayin’

Mr Poe had creeped me out by writing about birds in The Raven and now it’s been escalated to the next level. Saw this video while perusing The Stranger:

Is that bird really talking?
What would you teach it to say?
Ever eaten a raven?

In the first four guitar hero games Seattle grunge icon Kurt Cobain has never made an appearence – seriously?

Does Courtney make money from using the likeness of Kurt? How much money does it cost to license his image? It’s not like he was known for wearing designer t shirts or $300 jeans – he wore flannel and sweaters with holes and designed his own shirts with markers – so that shouldn’t stand in the way.

Finally, Kurt has been pixelated and is one of the playable characters in Guitar Hero 5. His mouth looks huge!

Doesn’t his mouth look huge?
How big is your mouth?
Can you fit your fist in there?
Can I fit my fist in there?

ikea_0827

It seems as if some major IKEA backlash has begun due to the company changing the font of their logo.  Yes, this is a real thing

It’s previous typeface, a customized version of Futura, has been with the company for quite some time. However, with its 2010 catalogue, the worlds largest user of particleboard, has switched to the racy and controversial: Verdana.

Naturally, it has provoked an instantaneous global backlash, the kind that is reserved for nerds with to much time on their hands via the Internet.

From Twitter (and Time.com)

“Ikea, stop the Verdana madness!”
- Tokyo’s Oliver Reichenstein

“Words can’t describe my disgust,”
- Ben Cristensen of Melbourne.

“Horrific,” says Christian Hughes in Dublin.

An online forum called Typophile says, “It’s a sad day.”

It was only a matter of time before an online petition started to get Ikea to change its mind and in one final blow to humanity, Verdana was a top trending topic on Twitter, drawing more tweets than Ted Kennedy.

I quit

If The End wanted me to do something like this

I would say no.

(also, is it just me, or does their sign have terrible grammar?)
