*Yawn* This weekend Month wore me out!

So much so that I haven’t had the energy to go up to the station to record the fifth President On Demand show… I did want to mention some things since a lot has happened in the last 70 days with me in office.

  • - I got to play 100 songs on-air (check out the list here) with harms, Jeremy, and Jordin Silver and got some really great feedback.
  • - The End revamped the website, now you can read our Blogs and listen to our Podcasts, and you can watch videos and steam audio – getting connected and leaving feedback is so much easier now, wouldn’t you agree?
  • - We started running a “Pick of The Week” where harms, Jordin, and I pick a song and you vote for it, helping us decide what new music gets played on The End.
  • - They flew me and Harms down to LA to catch the Grammys and interview celebs – Read all about it here and here.
  • - Adam Carolla isn’t part of our morning show anymore, but something new is on the way, be sure to leave comments here.
  • - I’ve interviewed Dyno Jamz, Jesse Harris, and Jordin Silver on my Podcasts… (plenty more of these to come)
  • - No Name came back for a few days, and that was sooo much fun to see him back in the studio and hear him on-air.

I’m gonna go catch up on some sleep, so leave me some comments/feedback and let me know how you think I’m doing.

Thanks,
Nikko

Amanda Palmer (now solo, formerly of the Dresden Dolls) has always been pretty outspoken.  “Shy” isn’t a word many people would use to describe her.   She has been up to the studio a number of times and was always very cool, very fun and a great interview.

It appears as if she wants off her current record label bad.  So much so, she wrote a song about it.

You can also read about it on her very entertaining blog

Rivers Cuomo will be debuting some new material, which he worked on with The Office star Rainn Wilson, on April 11th.  That’s kinda weird.  As soon as I get music, I’ll post it on the blog.

ALSO
Cuomo will release a live CD/DVD package of his in-store performance at Fingerprintz in Long Beach, California last year. It comes out on April 28th and features an interview with done by Jason Schwartzman.

rancid021

One of my top 3 bands of all time Rancid (Nirvana and Sonic Youth are the other 2) are finally done with “Let the Dominoes Fall”!! Their 7th album and first in six years.”Dominoes” is scheduled for June 2 release on Epitaph, and of course the band will be in town in July at the WAMU theatre with Rise Against.

PLUS how cool is this?  The new record was recorded at George Lucas’ Skywalker Sound Studio in San Francisco, and produced by good buddy/Epitaph founder/Bad Religion guitarist Brett Gurewitz.
